“When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Ramadan is a blessed month, various goodness and life lessons can be taken in madrasah or Ramadan campus. We can learn a lot in the campus of Ramadan such as; tarbiyah, tarbiyah imaniyah, tarbiyah ruhiyah, tarbiyah khuluqiyyah, and tarbiyyah ijtima'iyyah. The education process lasted for a whole month. For those who graduate, will get an honorable degree as a pious person.
First Class, Tarbiyah Imaniyah
Human faith is able to increase and decrease (yaziidu wa yanqush). Ramadan is the best way to strengthen our faith. The Prophet (ﷺ) once said that fasting will be accepted by Allah and ushers in the descent of the maghfirah of Allah only if the fast based on faith and sincerity (iimaanan wa ihtisaaban)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
Second Class, Tarbiyah Ruhiyah
As physically, human beings need nutrition and nutrient intake. Spiritually, humans need an amount of sunnah with various amaliyah worship. Fasting that teaches us to feel the presence of God. The goal to be achieved from fasting is to be a pious person, namely those who are able to present Allah SWT in every activity and behavior. With the presence of Allah SWT in every activity and behavior, then the person will always be guided from his prohibited actions.
Third Class, Tarbiyah Khuluqiyyah
Moral or character education that is widely buzzed by education experts has actually been clearly taught in fasting. Ramadan educates Muslims to control the nature of lust and has the ability to withstand anger.
Fasting helps the believer get rid of bad habits, negative personality traits, and undesirable conduct which the Muslim may be unable to overcome in any other month of the year. One negative trait that fasting is very helpful in treating is anger and constantly having a bad temper. I think this trait is an emotional disease of the heart. As evidence to the gravity of this problem, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) repeatedly warned his companions against being quick to anger, especially during the month of fasting.
Fourth Class, Tarbiyyah Ijtima'iyyah
Ramadan fasting teaches people how hard it is to withstand hunger and thirst. Ramadan fasting educates Muslims to feel the suffering and difficulties of others. People felt hungry and suffering as the poor often felt that it would touch his heart to share with them.
The Prophet (ﷺ) once said "He who breaks the fast of another fasting person shall earn a reward equivalent to the fasting person without detracting from the reward of the latter." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah! Some of us do not have enough to break the fast of another." Thereupon, our Prophet said: "Allah Gives this reward even to those who give a sip of milk to a fasting man."
