Indonesian Vice President, KH Ma'ruf Amin highlighted the social and economic conditions of people who are still plagued by economic inequalities that tend to widen, especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The issue of financial literacy is also one of the highlights because it is still very low.

He said through CNBC Indonesia that it is constrained because of the limited resources, including in the availability of capital in the context of Sharia finance. "The social and economic conditions of the people are far from hopeful. In the social condition in the economy, among others, the economic inequality is felt to widen," said KH Ma'ruf at the inauguration ceremony of the board of sharia economic community (MES) 2021-2023 in Jakarta, Monday (22/3/2021).

Amin, in MES event explain there are three constraints such; The pandemic of COVID-19, economic development that has not reached all levels of society to the level of community literacy to access economic resources and knowledge of sharia economy and finance is still very low in Indonesia, and global and national challenges regarding the perception of Muslims are touted harshly until the growing Islamophobic phenomenon in the United States (U.S.) and Europe is highlighted.

"Therefore, as mandated in munas yesterday the presence of MES should be more felt by the people, meaning that MES should be able to be present in the community and actively provide solutions to these problems," he continued.
