Prophet Muhammad SAW taught Muslims to always maintain cleanliness and tidiness. One of the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad  SAW is perfume, both for men and women.

He said, "Whoever takes a bath on Friday, brushes his teeth, puts on perfume, and wears the best clothes he has, then goes to Friday prayer and does not step over anyone's shoulders, then prays sunnah and listens to the sermon until it is finished and does not speak, then he is forgiven, for his sins between that Friday and the Friday before.” (HR Ahmad).

According to Islamic teachings, men are encouraged to wear fragrances that smell good and are not visible in color. Meanwhile, it is likely forbidden for women to use fragrances with strong scents when leaving the house, such as going to the mosque or other places. However, women may choose a strong scented perfume when together with her husband at home.

Prophet Muhammad SAW likes to use perfume. He also accepts when given a gift of perfume. The scent that lingers on his body is not only due to perfume, but also his outward cleanliness.

In the hadith narrated by al-Bukhari, it is stated that the companions recognized the path that the Prophet Muhammad had passed. Because, the fragrance that bursts from the road. "We know that the Prophet SAW has come out through his scent," said Anas.

The friend also said, "I have never smelled perfume, perfume or anything that smells like the scent of the Prophet Muhammad." (HR Muslim).

Jabir bin Samurah said, Prophet Muhammad SAW once rubbed his cheek. He also felt his hands smell good, as if they had just been taken out of a leather bag of perfumed oil. "I was ridden by the Prophet Muhammad SAW, then my mouth was touched by his prophetic ring which spread a fragrance."
