A beauty salon in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) created a new service during the Covid-19 pandemic. Worried about the crowd, the beauty parlor came up with a chip card manicure containing a person's basic information.

Customers at the Lanour Beauty Lounge near Dubai's Trade Center can choose to upload the information they want to a chip card via an app available on iPhone or Android.

The chip cards are sealed to their nails with paint. The card can store social media accounts, digital business cards, and other basic information and can be scanned by smartphone users.

Presenter Hanane Spiers, 35, based in Dubai, says this solution looks like a gimmick but she enjoys trying something new.

“Will that be the future? Maybe. If I'm in a noisy place and I want to share my Instagram or social media, I'll say, 'Just scan my finger,'” Spiers said after a nail salon worker painted chip cards onto her nails under a layer of shimmering silver nail polish.

Quoted by Al Arabiya, Monday (12/7), this idea came from the idea of a salon owner named Nour Makarem. He revealed the first salon to provide this service was his salon in the UAE. Since his posting on his business social media page about a month ago, clients have come in droves to try out new experiments.
