Riyadh Governor Initiates to Distribute Tablets for Underprivileged Students

On Thursday, 22nd of October 2020, Prince Faisal bin Bandar – the Governor of Riyadh – has initiated a new programme entitled Learn from Home. It was told in the presence of the education directors in the region, a representative from Takaful Charity Asociation and also the Director General of Education of Riyadh, Hamad Al-Wahaibi.

Regarding that initiative, Prince Faisal bin Bandar proposed on providing around 55,000 tablets for underprivileged students in that area. It is meant for the students to be able to continue their learning activities online through internet connection and communication technology. This is because during this Covid-19 pandemic, it is impossible to ask students sacrifice themselves to go out to public place, and learn, with the government knowing that it is unsafe out there.

ThisLearn from Homeinitiative from Riyadh Governor will also support e-learningprogramme in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well, since it is in line with Saudi Vision 2030. As the Saudi Press Agency reported, the programme alsobuilts up cooperation between public and private sector community in partnership, with several charity associations, entrepreneurs, as well as corporations in the region.
