The Government of Saudi Arabia issued the latest announcement Wednesday (7/21/2021). The country asked its citizens to return to the country immediately from Indonesia.

It is reported by local official media Saudi Press Agency (SPA). This was written in conjunction with the rules prohibiting Saudi citizens, either directly or indirectly flying to the Republic of Indonesia.

Saudy Press Agency (SPA) called the corona outbreak a cause. The government is concerned about the transmission of Covid-19 in Indonesia.

"Official sources at the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that based on the royal government's concern for the safety of citizens who want to travel abroad, and given the continued outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), the spread of new mutation virus strains of the virus, and the health situation in the Republic of Indonesia has been decided: preventing citizens from traveling directly or indirectly to Indonesia until the situation in Indonesia is stable," wrote the SPA report published by Arab News, Thursday (22/07/2021).

"The Ministry of Home Affairs asks citizens in Indonesia to be careful and stay away from the spread of the virus. To return faster to the kingdom," the announcement said.

Earlier, King Salman's country also announced it would extend residence permits and visit visas for expats who are 'stranded' abroad due to the pandemic. At least it will be done until August 2021.

Saudi Arabia has banned international flights since February 2021. When this rule was revised last April in May, Indonesia was still in a country that is still banned.

Saudi Arabia itself is carrying out a number of strict rules to stem the corona. Among other things, it limits the hajj quota from 2 million to 6,000 people only.

From worldometers data yesterday, Saudi Arabia recorded 1,142 new Covid-19 cases in the country with 12 deaths. Currently the total corona cases in Saudi Arabia is 513,284 cases with 8,115 deaths.
