The Dentist Who Slammed the Steering Wheel Selling Muslim Clothes in Shopee

 

Double roles become a part of Sherin Hawadi's daily life. In addition to working as a dentist and housewife, Sherin also runs a Muslim fashion business, Syaline Hijab. The business, which was established in 2018, began when Sherin started wearing hijab and found it difficult to find Muslim clothing that was closed but still following the trend.

 

In the midst of her busy life as a dentist, Sherin then decided to set up Syaline Hijab with her cousin. Initially, he sold his products through social media and his customers had to order directly to him.

 

"As the business started to grow, many customers started pushing for my products to also be purchased at Shopee."

 

Seeing the many requests from customers, Sherin finally decided to open an online store Syaline Hijab in Shopee in 2019. Not to be denied, the presence of its products in Shopee helps many customers to place orders. Although it had decreased during the pandemic, Syaline Hijab was still sought after.

 

"As lebaran approaches and special days, sales at Shopee increase. Now there are hundreds to thousands of products sold every month," Sherin added.

 

Although busy as a dentist and Muslim fashion businessman, it did not make Sherin leave her role as a mother. Being a mother is a 24-hour task. But this does not mean that by becoming a mother, one must be willing to abandon his dreams.

 

"Dividing time into dentists, mothers, wives, and entrepreneurs is not easy. But Shopee's technology helped me manage my business more easily, so I could do a better job."

 

Sherin believes that none of her children feel left behind by her working mother, it makes her proud. "I also feel very proud, confident and brave to continue to pursue my dreams," he concluded with a smile.

 

Children Have Asthma, So Businesses That Help Others

 

Anything a mother will do for the sake of her beloved child. Like Arlin Chondro, a mother who started her business because she created products for the child who suffered from asthma. Various ways taken by Arlin to give the best so that asthma symptoms suffered by the child can be reduced.

 

"Yes, one of them by trying other alternatives to reduce the side effects of drugs, so I learned to mix myself with essential oils until I finally found a mixture that is suitable for my child," he explained.

 

Gradually, arlin essential oils concoction was felt by family and relatives. So Arlin then decided to seriously produce essential oils from his racinya in 2016.

 

"Because I also want this product to be able to reach and help more people in need and indeed this is what I started before essential oils boomed as it is now," he added.

 

As a mother, Arlin decided to sell online because Arlin can manage her daily time in taking care of business and family. To increase product sales, Arlin was recommended by his friend to sell through the e-commerce platform, Shopee.
