Jokowi: Budget Plans to Enhance the Economy

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) hadstated the entire budget for ministries or agencies next year will be focused on supporting economic recovery after being hit by the corona virus pandemic. The recovery process is carried out through several sectors, such as health, education, infrastructure, social protection, technology and information development, and food security.

Jokowi revealed that the expenditure allocation in 2021 will be IDR 1,032 trillion. The figure is up 23.44 percent from the 2020 position of IDR 836.4 trillion.

He stated several ministries received a large enough budget, namely the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the 2021 state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN), the government allocates Rp2,750 trillion in expenditure, growing 0.4 percent compared to the expenditure allocation in the 2020 APBN, this allocation consists of 2021 Village Fund expenditure, Wednesday (11/25/2020).

Then, the transfer to the regions and village funds (TKDD) in 2021 is set at Rp. 795.5 trillion. The figure is up 4.19 percent from the allocation for 2020 which amounted to IDR763 trillion.

He had detailed that the government allocates Rp169 trillion for health, Rp550 trillion for education, Rp417 trillion for infrastructure, Rp408 trillion for social protection, Rp.169 trillion for technology and information development, and Rp99 trillion for food security.

On the same occasion, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said that the total expenditure allocation in the 2021 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is IDR 2,750 trillion and state revenue is IDR 1,743 trillion.
