President Director of PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas, Friderica Widyasari Dewi said that if sharia capital market develops over time, it will have a positive impact for other financial industries. According to her, 10-15 years ago, the topic related to Sharia finance was always ignored and no one wanted to talk about this. However, her outlook changed when he served as one of the Directors in the Indonesian Capital Market.

"My job is to attract investors in Indonesia. So I find that actually indonesian people are very concerned about whether investing in the capital market is sharia or not," she said in Maybank Shariah Thought Leaders Forum 2021, in Jakarta, Thursday (27/5/2021).

This eventually became one of the focuses, how to invest with sharia law in the Indonesian capital market. Currently according to her, there are several investments in the Indonesian capital market in accordance with sharia law. This is as stated in fatwa DSN-MUI No. 80/DSN-MUI/III/2011 concerning the Application of Sharia Principles in Equity Securities Trading Mechanism in The Regular Market of Stock Exchange.

"The fatwa is a picture or trust of the Indonesian people about investing in sharia capital markets," she said.

Currently, the market cap value in Indonesia has reached Rp 7,000 trillion where almost 50% or around Rp 3,500 trillion is sharia-based market capitalization.

"Similarly, for the number of 700 issuers in the Indonesian capital market, half of them are sharia issuers," she said.

This shows  evidence and the growing existence of digital platforms, remote trading, online trading sharia online trading systems, and applications that allow people to use stock trading shariah.

"Now, the daily trading amount of 60% for sharia stocks, is extraordinary," she concluded.
