The Ministry of Finance (Kemenku) stated that Indonesia with the largest Muslim population in the world should be able to be a driver of sharia economy and not only be a target market and halal industry products of other countries.

Indonesia should be the center of the world's halal producers, not just the world's largest consumers of halal products.

"To become the center of the world's halal producers, this can only be realized if we have a strong national halal value chain.

MSMEs as part of the industry is certainly an important factor in creating a national and global halal value chain in Indonesia, both as producers and as a driver of sharia economy," said Expert Minister of Finance and Islamic Finance Halim Alamsyah in the event "Kick Off Synergy Acceleration of Halal Industry MSME Development" online, Wednesday (08/25/2021).

According to Halim, this event is important because the National Committee of Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS) serves as a catalyst for the realization of Indonesia's Islamic economic and financial vision.

"Kick off synergy and acceleration through the signing of cooperation agreements and declarations of synergy acceleration of msme strengthening and halal industry business will be carried out by thirteen organizational units. Both private and government," he concluded.

This event is also expected to be a movement to realize the formation of the national halal industry MSME ecosystem in a more integrated manner and terrorise well.
