Indonesia Tightens Entrance for Foreigners

The Covid-19 Task Force issued a circular regarding the latest international travel health protocols. One of them contains a temporary closure of the entry of foreign nationals (WNA).

Thus the sound of legal paper Number 23 of 2021 quoted by CNBC Indonesia, (28/11/2021). It is valid today since it was signed.

 

Furthermore, the WNA in question either came directly or transited in a foreign country, who had lived and or visited within 14 days of the regional country with the following criteria:

 

First has confirmed the existence of community transmission of new variants of SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.529: South Africa and Botswana.

 

The two countries/regions geographically adjacent to the community transmission countries of the new variant B.1.1.529 are significantly connected: Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Eswatini, and Lesotho.

 

The temporary closure of the entry of foreign nationals into the territory of Indonesia, either directly or in transit in a foreign country is excluded for travelers who meet the following criteria:

 

a. Have no travel history and/or stay within 14 (fourteen) days of the country/region referred to in number 2;

 

b. In accordance with the provisions in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights

 

Human No. 34 of 2021 on Granting Visas and Immigration Residence Permits in the Period of Handling the Spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 and National Economic Recovery;

 

c. In accordance with the (bilateral) treaty scheme, such as travel corridor arrangement (TCA); and/or

 

d. Obtain special consideration/permission in writing from the Ministry/Institution.

 

Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens from abroad are allowed to enter Indonesia with strict health protocols.
