Amid the severe tense of political tension between Australia and China, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman - Lijian Zhao - recently posted an image of an Australian soldier holding a bloody knife next to a child who is holding a lamb. Zhao wrote, "Shocked by murder of Afghan civilians & prisoners by Australian soldiers. We strongly condemn such acts, and call for holding them accountable."It seems like it is meant to be a reference to a previously reported accusation towards a murder of Afghan boys by elite Australian soldiers. However, there is no credible evidence regarding the accusation implicitly brought by the photo. The murder by the elites is also still under inspection by the police.

Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia averred that it is truly repugnant, deeply offensive and utterly outrageous. "The Chinese government should be totally ashamed of this post. It diminishes them in the world's eyes. It is a false image and terrible slur on our defense forces," Morrison said. Relating it with the difficult tension between those countries, he added, "But this is not how you deal with it." The Prime Minister also warned Chinese government that the whole countries in the world are watching this deed done by China.

In spite of his anger, he still opens a way of reconciliation. Morrison said, "Despite this terribly offensive post today, I would ask again and call on China to re-engage in that dialogue." He hopes that this horrible event could lead to a sort of 'reset'. Nonetheless, China is quite a headstrong in this matter. The Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said, "It's not China which should be ashamed, but Australia."
